Squealadelic, Baby!

Guess what I have in my hot little hands? The new Julia Quinn book! Yes, that's right, I have Quinn. IT'S IN HIS KISS is her newest book about the Bridgerton family, and this will be Hyacinth's story. I wonder what she will do now that we have them all married off. I've loved every book in this ongoing series.

I've thought about Ms. Quinn as I've been on my recent Regency Rampage, and as I delved into her earlier books. I think what she possesses is a masterful ability to create emotional--deeply emotional--scenes. In her earlier books she's not there yet. They're fun and sweet, but it's these later books that really sing in my opinion.

So all you Quinn fans, go snag it. We can discuss amongst ourselves. I hope to start mine TONIGHT! :)

Ooooh, I love her books. Is this one available now?? I was just at my local Barnes and Noble and didn't see it. Darn them... my local store never gets things out on the shelves in a timely manner!

It's so exciting to get your hands on a book you've been wanting :)

Dee,

I love the Bridgerton clan, especially when they all get together and you see the different personalities working together. But I was disappointed in Francesca's story. I think the name "Michael" was used to extreme.

My favorite remains Anthony's story. Such great angst anchored in his father's death.

I also adore how she shows the same scene from different character POV's in different books.

I've already read chapter 1 of IIHK, and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Darn! I just looked for that at Borders yesterday, and they didn't have it. I'll have to go back.

If you like Julie's books, you might also like Elizabeth Boyle's historicals (also Avon). Stealing the Bride is my very favorite, but Something about Emmaline that just came out recently is great, too. You should give them a try!

Moonhart, Anthony's story was my favorite too, although I loved Daphne's too b/c the Duke was so tortured. :) And, of course, I really did love the one with Colin and Penelope. They had great chemistry. So, uh, I loved a whole lot of these books, obviously. She has a real ability to truly take me away to another world, which is tough as an agent. :)

There's one more to come, De. We still have the youngest son, Gregory's story to look forward to. Thank goodness. I can't wait to get this one. It's the first thing I'm going to pick up the next time I'm in a book store.
