We are here! We are here!

And don't boil this dust speck of a blogger. I promise I haven't drifted away for good. I've been missing my blog time, but life has been very hectic and crazy. Today that translates to a lot of tornado activity as a result of being in the south and getting hurricane "spill off."

Right now our town is under a hurricane warning. They keep sounding an alarm on the square, which--I'm sorry, but it's true--sounds way too WWII not to be freaky. Even if the sky is light and no wind, I still want to grab my kids and run for the downstairs.

Sigh. I hope all of our friends in the Louisiana and Miss area are okay. Check in when you can!
Hugs, Deidre

Ack. How scary. I've been through hurricane hits and near misses and know how frightening it can be. Take care of yourself and your family, Deidre.

I like the Dr. Seuss reference, BTW, and it seems particularly apropos in the face of a hurricane. In the grand scheme of things, I suppose we're ALL dust specks...

Stay safe! Here in Paris, they sound the air raid sirens the first Wednesday of every month. The first time I heard that, I was panicked, thinking bombs were going to start raining down any minute. But no, it was just the French testing their equipment while having a little fun at an ex-pat's expense.Hoping nothing rains down on you.

We are all doing great! Lots of tornadoes all around, but none right here. Gabrielle that's too funny about the air raid sirens. That's exactly what this sounded like! Deidre
